If you are enrolled in certain programmes you may be required to complete online tests at the beginning and end of your study year or semester. To do this your kaiāko will provide you with login codes and you will need to access the Literacy and Numeracy for Adults Assessment Tool online to complete two tests, one for literacy and one for numeracy. Depending on the results of those tests, you might be asked to repeat those tests at the end of your programme. Your kaiāko will advise you on this process. These tests are a requirement of the Tertiary Education Council, the governing body for all tertiary studies nationwide, and will not affect your grades in any way.

Cogniti is a generative AI application, or chatbot, to assist you in preparing and reviewing your draft essays or reports. You interact with Cogniti agents in a conversational way that is very similar to other public or free chatbots you may have used, but our chatbot has been customized to the specific needs of our ākonga.
This chatbot is trained to be a helpful assistant for you in how to write reports and essays, but is not able to write for you.
Cogniti is a private service, hosted for Toi Ohomai. Your data will never be used to train AI models.
