Mrs. Shoemake's class is reading another book, called "Animal Farm" by George Orwell. The book Animal Farm is a short novel (a fable or allegory) about a group of farm animals who rebel against their human farmer, hoping to create a society where all animals are equal, free, and happy.
At first, things improve after the rebellion. The animals run the farm themselves and create rules based on equality. However, the pigs—who are the smartest animals—gradually take control. Two main pigs, Snowball and Napoleon, struggle for power, and Napoleon eventually becomes a dictator.
Over time, the pigs become more and more like humans: they exploit the other animals, change the rules to benefit themselves, and use fear and propaganda to stay in control. By the end, the animals realize that their new leaders are just as bad as (or worse than) the humans they overthrew.
They are even coming out with a movie in May 1, 2026.
