In the late 1950s, a group of visionary leaders in Australia established the first Toastmasters club in Wollongong to embrace the same vision of our founder. From that moment, thousands of people across the continent have discovered their voices, enhanced their confidence, and have grown into leaders through Toastmasters International.

This is the power of a shared vision greater than self. Today, District 70 stands as one of the most outstanding districts in the Toastmasters world. I am truly honored and delighted to be invited as the keynote speaker for such a distinguished district.

Over the years, I have met and associated with many Toastmasters from District 70. I have been inspired by their stories of perseverance, courage, and transformation. Some have become lifelong friends. I look forward to meeting many more of you and to work together as we shape the future of the Toastmasters program in Australia which will fulfil the aspirations of our members.

I had the privilege of Visting District 70 and 90 to officially launch the Pathways program in Australia when I was the International President.

Sabyasachi (Saby) Sengupta is our most recent World Champion of Public Speaking, taking the coveted prize in the International Speech Contest held at the Toastmasters International Convention in Pennsyhlvania in August 2025.

Saby, a behavioural change expert, uses his 15-year banking experience leading change to equip organisations. As a speaker and consultant, he tackles the human side of transformation. His focus? Helping teams navigate change with energy, humor, and a human touch.

He tackles resistance to change, offering practical strategies for teams to thrive in an ever-evolving landscape. His work results in more adaptable, innovative, and future-ready teams.

Saby founded Method in Madness, an organisation that is all about people, the people who want to be change makers, the people who want to inspire behavioral change in their team, people who are struggling with motivation in their team.

He is also the author of “Whats Your Plan B? Turn Adversity into your Benefit.
