Q: What sectors are eligible for this program?
A: Businesses operating in agricultural value chains, such as dairy, grains, horticulture, and other agri-food sectors, are eligible to apply.
Q: What happens after I submit my application?
A: Once the application period closes, all applications will be reviewed for eligibility. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for further screening, which includes virtual interviews and on-site Due Diligence visits by our team.
Q: What does the Due Diligence process involve?
A: The Due Diligence process includes a thorough review of your business’s operations, financial records, and compliance documents. Our team will conduct a physical visit to your business location to validate the information provided in your application.
Q: How will I know if I’ve been selected?
A: Selected businesses will receive an official communication via email and phone. The onboarding process, including baseline data collection and program orientation, will begin shortly after selection.
Q: Can I apply if my business has received debt financing in the past?
A: Yes, businesses with some borrowing history are eligible, as the program is designed to support SMEs seeking repeat or higher-amount financing.
Q: Do I need to be available for all program activities?
A: Yes, all selected participants must commit to attending all virtual training sessions, workshops, and advisory meetings, as well as participating in the final pitching session.
Q: Is the program open to businesses outside Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and Tanzania?
A: No, this program is specifically tailored for businesses operating within these four countries.
Q: What are the benefits of the program?
A: Participants will receive tailored virtual training, one-on-one advisory support, networking opportunities, and develop an investment memo and pitch material. The program also supports the development of essential business tools, such as investment memos and pitch decks.
Q: Is there a fee to participate in this program?
A: No, this program is fully funded by Aceli Africa in partnership with TechnoServe and is free for the selected participants.
