We offer a variety of biological survey services, or "biosurveys", for private or public lands. By following protocols stablished by state and federal agencies, our biological surveys support the efforts of conservation groups and allow landowners to make informed management decisions.
Aquatic Macroinvertebrate Surveys
Some critters are more sensitive to pollution than others. By cataloging the presence and relative abundance of aquatic macroinvertebrates such as crayfish, insects, and mollusks, we can effectively identify issues that affect water quality.
Using a variety of sampling methods, our biologists are trained to identify and monitor reptiles and amphibians, whose sensitivity to contaminants makes them great indicators of environmental health.
Vegetation Surveys
Vegetation surveys allow us to paint a complete picture of the long-term success of conservation initiatives, as well as to understand the impact of environmental disturbances.
eDNA
Environmental DNA, or "eDNA", is DNA that is shed from an organism into the water. We work with an accredited laboratory to test water for eDNA of a variety of species. This allows us to detect species that are reclusive, tiny, rare, or otherwise difficult to find.
