Commonsense.org -- digital literacy lessons for all grades, also provides top choices for podcasts, audiobooks, etc.
Readworks -- This website offers reading passages at all grade and interest levels. It also provides support for struggling readers and offers article a day options as well as decodables.
BBC Earth -- Here you will find short video clips on animals and nature around the globe. This website is a great resource for introducing a quick write topic or providing writing inspiration to your class.
Wonderopolis -- Do your students often ask questions you can't answer? Wonderopolis is the site to visit. Filled with so many facts and the ability to ask questions. There is a wonder of the day here as well.
Toonytool -- This site is an online cartoon maker
Kiddle.co -- A great site for beginning researchers
Smalltalkfm Podcasts -- Provides a list and description of podcasts for kids
Penny Kittle Website -- Penny Kittle is one of my favorite authors and mentors. Her website offers a plethora of ideas and resources for upper grade teachers. There are tons of padlet links on this site for you to explore!
Kelly Gallagher website -- Another favorite of mine and co-author with Penny Kittle of one of my favorite teacher resources "180 Days". This is an amazing resource for ELA teachers. On this website you will find article of the week (to build students' background knowledge), digital discussions as well as a blog.
Carl Anderson Website -- Carl Anderson is another highly regarded author and consultant for mostly grades K-8. There is a link to his blog on the website with podcasts that offer great information.
Heinemann Blog and Podcasts -- Educational podcasts related to all areas of literacy
Pernille Ripp website -- book recommendations -- There are so many great book recommendations at all levels, as well as book studies and information for teachers.
Read Write Think -- You just have to check this one out....So many teacher resources available at this website!
EPIC -- An ebook and audiobook website for students in grades K-6. It offers thousands of book titles, also includes videos, quizzes, and more. Students have their own login and teachers can assign books and view what students have read.
Sora app -- All students have access to this app with their TMSD account, it offers ebooks and audiobooks within our division account, as well as ebooks through local libraries with a library card number.
Storyboards – free website to create storyboards for digital storytelling.
UFLI Foundations Toolkit -- University of Florida Literacy Institute -- A program used to improve literacy outcomes for early and struggling learners. It is a phonics program that follows a daily routine with helpful resources.
TED Talks -- Motivating and educational talks to spark conversation and interest. Use this as a catalyst for writing, debating, sharing ideas, etc.
The Ethicist -- New York Times -- This website provides daily ethical issues that can be great for discussion before a quickwrite or as you tackle opinion/argumentative writing.

Write, right, rite series -- Jason Reynolds -- Amazing author Jason Reynolds offers this short video series while sharing a writing prompt for middle school students.
Common Lit -- A great resource for all grade levels and all ELA outcomes. There are all kinds of texts, short stories complete with ideas for guiding quesions and discusssion Includes resources for all types of writing, etc.
CNN10 -- 10 minute news clip of current events. Great for opening discussions, opinion writing and keeping up with current events in real time.
New York Times Learning Network -- Here you will find resources for bringing the world into your classroom, along with great lessons, writing prompts, video clips, etc.
New York Times -- What's Going on in this Picture -- This website is full of intriguing scenes that will inspire student talk and can be used as a great writing prompt.
NEW -- THIS IS A MUST SEE!!! Textproject.org -- This is an amazing resource for all levels of readers. So many rich texts and articles, along with comprehension sets, etc. --All free!!!

Superteacherworksheets -- K-8 resource for all subject areas. Lots of great short fiction and non-fiction passages available as well as reading comprehension activities.
Flocabulary -- offers engaging videos, activities and quizzes for all subject areas.
Storytime with Ryan and Craig is a funny,upbeat youtube channel offering a huge variety of read alouds, with their own twist!
Storyline Online is another read aloud youtube channel with well loved picture books read by numerous celebrities. You can find most titles on this channel!
