Mrs. Steagall has been with TMISD since 1994, where she began as a high school English and Spanish teacher. In 2007, she was awarded the Laura Bush 21st Century Grant for Library Science through the National Endowment for the Humanities. In 2008, she became the librarian at TMMS and graduated with her Master's in Library Information Science from Sam Houston State in 2009. She was named TMISD Secondary Teacher of the Year in 2008 and TMISD Support Staff of the Year in 2025.
Mrs. Steagall is a huge proponent of student activities, serving as the Student Council advisor, 8th Grade DC Trip Coordinator, UIL Writing coach and PALS host. She has been on the Texas Association of Student Councils Board of Directors two different terms and has been named TASC District X Advisor of the Year numerous times. Mrs. Steagall serves kids in the community the Grant Writing Chair of the Teen Bookfest By The Bay and as the NCJLS Photography Superintendent.
