What is Camp Claw? Camp Claw is a five-day academic experience designed to give incoming Upper School students a confident, prepared start to the school year. Through a combination of math, English, and community, students will build the foundational skills they need to hit the ground running in August.
Who should attend? Camp Claw is specifically designed for rising 9th graders but is open to any new Upper School student who wants to get a head start on academics. Enrollment is optional, though it may be highly encouraged by the Admissions team for some students.
What's included? Each day features:
A math session covering algebra foundations: fractions, decimals, radicals, exponent rules, variables, equation solving, and introductory factoring
An English session focused on grammar essentials (the eight parts of speech), annotation skills, and writing strong, coherent sentences and paragraphs
Lunch
A Community Experience Camp Claw isn't just about academics. Selected rising 12th graders will serve as teaching assistants throughout the week, making this a true TMI community experience from day one.
This program is for TMI students only. Register here.

Dear Parents,
We are excited to announce our first field trip of the school year! The entire 9th-grade class will travel to Camp Olympia in Trinity, Texas, during the first couple of days of school, from Wednesday, August 19, through Friday, August 21, 2026.
This trip is designed to help students connect with one another, build friendships, and strengthen relationships that will support them throughout their four years at TMI Episcopal. We are thrilled to provide this opportunity for the Class of 2030 to begin their Upper School experience together.
Students will depart on charter buses immediately following the TMI Convocation on Wednesday, August 19 (a scheduled half-day of school). We expect to arrive at Camp Olympia later that afternoon. Our anticipated return to campus is mid-to late afternoon on Friday, August 21.
