Athletic Uniforms and Summer Practice
Summer Athletic Practices
For the Fall Sports (Football, Cross Country, Volleyball and Soccer), Head Coaches will be contacting families in July about practices/workouts before the start of school. If you need to be connected with a MS Coach, please reach out to Andrea Wagner at a.wagner@tmi-sa.org.
Additionally, many of our MS Coaches are offering summer camps at TMI - These can be found in the Summer at TMI online catalog.
Sports Team Sign Ups
As we begin preparing for the upcoming school year, we’d like to get a better sense of student interest in sports for each season. To help our coaches and teams plan accordingly, we’re asking each middle school student to complete a brief Sports Interest Questionnaire. In this form, students can select up to two sports per season that they may be interested in participating in for the 2025-2026 school year. Also, we are gaging interest for a Strength and Conditioning Sport Performance Class for the Winter Season for select 7th and 8th grade athletes. More information will be presented about this option to those interested.
Please note: this is not a binding commitment—it simply helps us prepare for the appropriate number of teams, coaches, and equipment. We kindly ask that you complete the form by July 18 - LINK HERE

Middle School Cross Country News
We are excited to invite incoming 6th to 8th grade boys & girls to join the TMI Panther Cross Country team for the upcoming school year! Cross Country is a rewarding sport that encourages personal growth, physical fitness, and strong teamwork. Our program is open to runners of all experience levels — whether your child is new to the sport or looking to build endurance and speed, there is a place on the team! Athletes will develop discipline, resilience, and friendships that will support them both on and off the course. If you are interested in learning more or would like to receive additional information about summer training, please email Coach Andrea Wagner at a.wagner@tmi-sa.org. We would love to connect with you and welcome your family to our Cross Country community!
Middle School Athletics Updates
Athletic or PE Participation Requirement:
Each student will be required to participate in at least one season of a sport or a physical education (PE) class during the school year. Students are encouraged to participate in all three seasons if they wish!
Team Tryouts and Selections:
Students will try out for sports teams. Depending on the sport and the number of teams available, some students may not be placed on a team.
Starting next year, TMI may limit participation in a few sports due to a reduction in the number of teams.
These decisions are made based on the availability of practice spaces and the ability to support our student-athletes.
However, all students in grades 6th to 8th grade continue to have exciting opportunities to compete! They will be invited to try out for some existing Middle School teams, giving them the same chance to get involved and shine, regardless of their grade.
PE Season Availability:
Physical education classes will be offered during the Fall and Spring seasons only.
Winter Season Adjustments:
During the Winter season, students who are not participating in a sport will finish their day at 2:20 p.m. and will need to be picked up at that time.
For families needing a later pickup option, we are working on offering an additional study hall to better support those schedules.
These adjustments will also help us manage indoor spaces better during the colder months and accommodate the continued growth of our athletic programs.
End-of-Day Options:
Students who are not “in season” or not enrolled in PE during a given season may either:
Be picked up at 2:20 p.m., or
Attend Study Hall until 3:45 p.m.
These changes are designed to offer a more dynamic and well-rounded experience for our middle school students while continuing to uphold the spirit of competition, personal growth, and community engagement. We are excited about the year ahead and look forward to working together to support our students in all aspects of their development.
