Athletic Uniforms and Summer Practice/Team Sign Up
Welcome from the Athletic Director
Athletic Uniforms
For our athletes, practice gear is not provided. The expectation, however, is that all of our athletes wear TMI gear for both practices and contests. If you would like to purchase TMI gear for the upcoming school year, you may do so at the TMI Spirit Store located in the hallway of the Frost Athletic Center or via the Under Armour Team Store (link to be sent in early summer). Team competition uniforms will be issued to the players by the Athletic Department prior to their first game/match. These uniforms must be returned at the end of each season.
TMI will provide a locker room with full facilities (shower, toilet, lockers, changing areas, etc.) for the entire upper school student body. Locks will not be provided, but are mandatory for students wishing to store any items, both TMI and/or personal, in their locker.
If you have any questions regarding athletics, please contact one of our Athletic Department staff members:

Summer at TMI also offers an extensive catalog of summer camps which involve many sports options. These
can be found on the Summer at TMI website at Summer at TMI online catalog.
On that date, football, cross country, cheerleading and volleyball are in-season and attendance for team members is mandatory. There will be varying hours for practices among the fall sports, so please contact the coaches above. Once school classes begin on August 18th, typical Upper School athletics practices will occur from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm, Monday-Friday with the occasional Saturday. For sports which span a school holiday such as Thanksgiving break, Christmas break, or spring break, those practice sessions will be communicated by the head coach of each sport. For reference, the starting dates for the winter and spring seasons are as follows:
Hello Panthers! This email is intended for all girls entering into 9-12th grade at TMI who are interested in playing volleyball in upcoming the 2022 Fall season. Please disregard if this does not pertain to you.
My name is Crystal Garner and along with Brandon Palomo, we are the Varsity Volleyball coaches for this upcoming season! We are looking forward to seeing you back in the gym this summer. We are excited to announce that Leyla Davis will be returning as our Head JV Coach and Alex Green will be our Head Middle School Coach!
Below you will find VERY IMPORTANT DATES AND INFORMATION So please read carefully.
Summer Open gyms will run on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-8 Starting on June 8th and ending on July 20th. There will be no open gym, Monday, July 4th.
AUGUST 1st IS THE FIRST DAY OF THE SEASON AND TRYOUTS AND IS MANDATORY. We will run a 3-day tryout we plan only to have 1 Varsity and 1 JV team this year. If you are not in attendance on August 1st do not expect to make a team. We will be making tough decisions as we decide who will be on each roster. These decisions will be made based on your performance on August 1-3rd, and not previous seasons. There are no guarantees and therefore if you were on a specific team last year it does not ensure a spot on that team again this year.
We are so excited to grow our program and continue on our path of becoming more competitive. With this will come tough decisions and we expect each player to show up with a great attitude, willingness to learn, and ready to give 100% each day. The best way to ensure that you perform at your highest ability at tryouts is to attend open gyms and train with your club programs to prepare.
August 1st- 3rd Tryouts 5:00-8:00 PM
August 4th-5th Practice 5:00-8:00
August 8th-18th Practice 5:00-7:00
When school starts our practice times will be 4:30-6:30.
Any player that makes varsity should be prepared to leave for Austin for a 3-day Westwood tournament that runs on August 11-13th. This tournament will have fees for hotels so please plan accordingly. We have invited a couple of select JV players to attend as well for the playing experience.
I have created a google calendar for the year. Please add this to your calendars as it will be constantly evolving and changing and all game information will always be on your on-campus. Please check it on a regular basis in case of changes.
Please reach out if you have any questions. Thank you!
GO PANTHERS!!
Dear TMI XC,
I hope you have had a relaxing and restful past couple of weeks. We are getting ready to start our summer running this Monday, it is not mandatory. I want to remind you that the more running we do in the summer the better we will be in the fall. I will have attached a running program to follow for the days that we are not meeting. Right now we have voluntary practice:
Cross Country Summer Running (optional)
M, W, F beginning June 6th - July 22
7:30 am - 9:30 am
Meet on the Track
Fall Workouts begin August 1 and will be held M-F from 8-10 am
Attendance is mandatory.
I have attached a summer running program so if you aren't going to be able to come to practice and are wondering what to run, that is provided below as well as a journal log so you can keep track of your workouts. You can have a completely different running program than everyone else. It is all dependent on what we think will help you in the long run.
We are looking forward to having a great season this year, the boys are looking to repeat what we did last year and the girls are looking to make the podem this year. Neither task will be easy but they are goals that we as a coaching staff think can be accomplished.
If you have any questions feel free to send either Coach Brawley or I an email and we will try to get back to you as soon as we can.
And finally if you are talking to one of your friends that you know wants to run XC but they haven't received the XC emails and they don't see themselves on the XC roster please tell them to email me and Coach Brawley so that we can add them to the roster as soon as possible.
Thank you,
Coach Eddy
