This course covers the mathematical concepts particularly relevant to non-science majors. Topics covered include problem-solving, topics in finance, probability, statistics, and additional real-world applications. Satisfies UNR core curriculum.

Provides a review of algebra, corequisite mathematical support, and just in time material for MATH 120, Fundamentals of College Mathematics

● Students will be able to perform operations of real numbers and apply properties of real numbers to demonstrate mathematical skills needed in MATH 120.
● Students will be able to simplify algebraic expressions relevant to MATH 120.
● Students will be able to construct and solve various equations relevant to MATH 120.

● Refresh and review fundamental operations of real numbers.
● Refresh and review fundamental algebra skills needed to be successful in Math 120.
● Introduce methods to extend mathematical skills to new applications introduced in Math 120.
● Reinforce quantitative reasoning skills needed to understand and to solve real-life applications introduced in Math 120.
● Introduce basic critical thinking skills needed to contextualize solutions to application in Math 120.
