The Countess Angela Dandini Gardens are managed by the City of Reno and Truckee Meadows Community College. A curious history of Count Dandini and the Countess Angela Dandini Gardens can be read here.
Our endeavors at the Gardens and across Campus are supported by Bee Campus USA which is affiliated to the Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation. Xerces is an international nonprofit organization that protects the natural world through the conservation of invertebrates and their habitats. Bee Campus USA thrives on thinking globally and acting locally; providing a framework for campus communities to work together to conserve native pollinators by increasing the abundance of native plants, providing nest sites, and reducing the use of pesticides.
TMCC has been a certified Bee Campus USA since February of 2022, and is Nevada's first Bee Campus USA designated institution! The Native Pollinator Garden within the Angela Dandini Gardens is a project that was borne out of our Bee Campus USA certification. The native pollinating plants serve as a resource for our native ecosystem and an educational venue for our students and the community. Read more about our Bee Campus USA here!
