This course is designed to help prepare the student for the CompTIA A+ Certification examinations. It is a technical support course, rather than a user-level course, which will provide in-depth coverage of Microsoft operating systems currently found in PC’s and PC related hardware. This will include the study of architecture, function, configuration, upgrading, diagnosing, and troubleshooting techniques.
The course is enhanced by the inclusion of selected demonstrations and experiences with PC hardware and operating systems. The course’s lab procedures are used to give the student a practical, hands-on example of these theoretical concepts through actual experimentation with a live system.
1. Students will demonstrate knowledge of the correct installation procedures for current operating systems along with updates and service packs.
2. Students will be able to identify computer components, install hardware in a computer and troubleshoot hardware components.
3. Students will demonstrate professionalism and effective communications while working with users.
