Our Pre-Kindergarten curriculum is child-centered and uses age-
appropriate learning activities. We use the ABEKA ABC-123, One In Christ
Bible Curriculum, and Scholastic My Big World, in addition to our own
Kindergarten preparatory curriculum. Our number one mission is instilling
a love for God in each of our students and reminding them through Bible
stories, chapel, and our own personal witness that God loves them.
We work on social interaction, routine, language development, physical
development, cognitive development, and spiritual growth. Each day
includes devotions, prayers, calendar review, weather reporting and
graphing, story read-alouds, songs, independent table work,
appreciations, indoor centers, and outdoor play. Some children stay for
nap time after lunch.
Our curriculum is balanced and includes routines and activities that
encourage the children to solve problems and experiment in the classroom
with the use of various puzzles and other manipulatives. The children are
given the freedom to choose to play independently and/or in groups. We
encourage each child’s interests and address his/her needs to the best of
our ability. We also have enrichment activities such as field trips, special
plays, and classroom parties.
We encourage an appreciation for knowledge in daily activities including
but not limited to roleplaying, arts and crafts, journal writing, activities with
colors, shapes, letters, and numbers, along with the use of musical, writing
and art instruments. We encourage manners, politeness, and empathy
during the school day. Our classroom rules are: Be kind, responsible and
respectful.
