Our Title 1 Program is designed to provide intervention and support for your child in the area(s) of reading and/or math. We provide research-based, skill specific interventions to supplement the classroom instruction in an effort to help students achieve the grade level state academic objectives.
Students are given multiple grade level assessments throughout the year in reading and mathematics to determine eligibility for Title 1 services. Within the intervention structure, students are continuously progress monitored using various assessments to determine specific areas of need. Lessons are organized to address specific areas of difficulty for each student. The length of time a student receives services is based on student need through tracking of data in the focus area.
Students that are eligible for Title 1 services receive intervention on a consistent basis. The time and frequency of intervention is determined by age and need. Support may be provided one-to-one, or small group (3-5 students) in a pull-out or push- in format. The following are common examples of intervention intervals for students at McFall and Lee.
Kindergarten : 20 minutes, 5 days/week
First Grade: 25 minutes, 5 days/week
Second Grade: 30 minutes, 5 days/week
Third Grade: 30 minutes, 5 days/week
