On Fridays, your child will bring his/her orange take home folder home. This folder will come back to school on Mondays. There will be a news letter with the latest on what we are learning in class.
I often send home optional math practice for families who want to reinforce learning at home. These are not required and will not be graded.
After we settle into a class routine, we will start taking weekly spelling tests. Please study these words at home based on your child's needs.
Research proves that making reading a part of a child's nightly routine has a substantial positive impact on his/ her academic performance. I am opting out of requiring reading logs, as I've found they are incredibly frustrating for busy families, but please do your best to read at home.
You are welcome to reach out to me if you're interested in volunteering. You do need to fill out an Ichat form, which includes a copy of your ID.
Birthday treats must be prepackaged from a manufacturer. In other words, students may not bring in anything homemade. Some easy ideas are suckers, ring pops or individually wrapped candies or cookies, etc... We celebrate birthdays during our afternoon snack. There are 23 students in our class.
Please send the items listed on the 2nd grade supply list. I have extras, so please let me know if you need help meeting these needs.
Please refrain from sending in anything extra that might be a distraction.
Please send a snack with your child each day. Students will have the chance to eat their snacks in the afternoon.
Please send a labeled water bottle with your child each day. We have refill stations at Lee!
Details are TBD. I will send out a sign up genius with all of the information a few weeks before each party.
Our class code is Q7C7B
