Debden Park High School is an Outstanding School within The Kemnal Academies Trust (TKAT). It is the School Direct Lead School for the Essex training hub providing secondary (11-16) and primary (5-11) school-based teacher training.

TKAT SCITT offers a bespoke training programme: every training session is delivered by a highly skilled, experienced and enthusiastic teacher. Our training is relevant and responsive to current developments in education and provides a hands-­on approach to classroom practice. We believe the best teachers are trained by outstanding practitioners.

Debden Park High School has a long history and commitment to training individuals to become outstanding teachers. We operate as a hub for the TKAT School Centred Initial Teacher Training Programme, and provide a programme which is centred around engaging with the latest research alongside seeing this in practice at our Ofsted Outstanding school.

Our Vision is to train teachers to work in our school and our partner schools, and this undoubtedly contributes to the 100% employment rates for our trainees. We are proud that the majority of our staff trained and qualified at the school. This means we have a body of staff who are committed to our training programme, understand the demands trainees face, and are therefore incredibly supportive of our trainees.

As we seek to develop our already outstanding school, we are looking for motivated, ambitious and highly skilled individuals who wish to enter teaching. We are offering the rare opportunity of a series of paid positions at our school or at our partner schools (King Harold in Waltham Abbey and Hylands in Chelmsford), where you will ‘learn to teach on the job’ in supportive and stimulating environments, as well as 'unsalaried' positions across a full range of subjects. This 'learning on the job' will be underpinned by a weekly training day delivered by our outstanding and experienced practitioners at Debden Park High School.
