School Wide Frequently Asked Questions

Why is TIS closed? Albania has declared that all schools, public and private, should close to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus COVID-19. TIS is closed in compliance with the ministry of education.

When will school open again? The best information we have now is that schools in Albania will reopen on March 23. However, this might change as the country assesses their response to COVID-19.

What do we do if we have questions or concerns? In most cases, questions are answered as you reach out to your child's teachers. However, if you have a general question or concern, feel free to reach out to our hotline 24/7 by phone or Whatsapp at +355 69 707 7939.

How can our children be safe online? Our primary goal at TIS is student safety. As we are closed for physical attendance at school, we want to ensure that your children are safe online. By using a platform such as Zoom, classes can be joined by more than one person. In other words, they are observable and interruptible, unlike standard person to person messaging apps (Whatsapp, Skype, texting, etc.) This adds a level of safety for all involved. Additionally, it is best if your child joins live streaming classes from a common room in your home (not their bedroom).

Can we get materials at school? Yes, parents are welcome to come by school to pick up materials. Unfortunately, students are not able to have access to the campus until school resumes.

Are we counted absent these days? Students are expected to be engaged in our virtual school environment during regular school days. Teachers actively take attendance, and that data will be used to determine if a child is present or absent during a virtual school day.
