This workshop series aims to introduce the Zebrafish Toxicology Phenotype Atlas project to the community, gather use cases, and prepare the first set of data to be included in the atlas.
Workshops will be two hours long, and be held virtually via zoom.
Day: March 19, 2025
Time: 2 - 4 pm Eastern Time (check your local time here)
Where: Virtual, via zoom. A link will be shared with the participants, along with a calendar invitation
Topic: Data Annotations.
We will do some exercises to identify the pieces of information that are crucial for reporting phenotypes associated with toxicology/environmental exposure.
We will also review the Zebrafish Phenotype Ontology and present options on how to use it as a standard for phenotype reporting.
We will choose the official name for the project.
Sign-up or RSVP for this workshop here.
Workshop preparation:
Please pick a toxicology/environmental exposure example, including an image of the fish and all the information you would use to report this result. Feel free to use an example from your lab, or from the literature. Have this example ready when joining the workshop: it will be used in an exercise to identify all pieces of information required when reporting data.
Do you have an idea for the name of this Zebrafish Toxicology Phenotype Atlas project? Please submit it here.
Please note that attendees will use Google Sheets to participate in the exercises. Please check that you are (or will be) able to access and edit Google Sheets. If you need to test: Click on this link, ensure that you are redirected to a Google Sheet, and you are able to edit.

Topic: Zebrafish Toxicology Phenotype Atlas project kick-off workshop.
We will introduce the project, discuss goals, and plan the community's involvement (including communication).
We will review SOPs and protocols currently used, as well as images of the most common/strangest/hardest to annotate phenotypes encountered. This information will inform the discussions.
The goals of this workshop are to bring the community together and discuss strategies and priorities.
Sign-up for this workshop here.
Workshop preparation: We are asking participants to share the following information (if they have it)
any SOPs or protocols currently used to annotate phenotypes.
Images of a phenotype from any application (it does not need to be from a drug application experiment), depicting:
the funniest/strangest phenotype you have found
the most common phenotype you see
the hardest phenotype to annotate
a problem/challenge you are having around data integration.
Depending on the number of submissions, we would either ask all submitters to talk about the material submitted, or we select a few examples. Please be prepared to talk about the material you submitted during the workshop.
We kindly ask that this information be submitted here, by January 8th, 2025. Thank you
Important note: Everyone is welcome to attend this workshop, whether or not they submit the information requested above. The information can be published or unpublished images/SOPs/protocols. If unpublished, please be aware that the images you submit will be shared with the workshop participants, but never outside of the workshop. We ask all participants to adhere to this code of conduct.
