The EYI Challenge is a program inviting students across international schools in the CEESA region and beyond, to come together and form groups to address a common challenge in their local and global communities, using the UN Sustainable Development Goals as a guiding framework. It starts with a kick-off conference, where over two days, students form groups, identify and explore a challenge, and are guided through the process of changemaking and project development, setting them up to successfully carry out their community service projects over the subsequent months.
This year, the 2024 EYI Challenge kickoff conference was hosted at the Landmark Hotel in Baku, Azerbaijan, just two weeks ahead of COP29. Students from over 10 Baku schools and organizations came together to dive into the art of changemaking with Youthtopia experts Melati Wijsen and Lily Lim.
Officially recognized by the International Baccalaureate as a IB Festival of Hope, this event celebrated the power of youth to inspire action and make a difference.
