Welcome to World History with Mr. Potter at Brighton High School.

This class is about more than names and dates. We're here to think like historians — asking good questions, analyzing evidence, and understanding how the past still shapes the world we live in. You'll work with primary sources, maps, historical debates, and writing assignments that push you to engage seriously with history rather than just memorize it. From ancient civilizations to modern conflict, we'll treat history as a living story worth understanding.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in History and Philosophy from the University of Memphis and am currently pursuing a Master of Divinity in Church History at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Outside of class, I coach football, work with my hands, and spend time outdoors. Good BBQ and country music don't hurt either.
