Using Tiny Room's microphones, software and expert technicians, it sounds like this...
Every Monday, we open our doors to local musicians enrolled in our Tiny Room Membership program. We give them food and drinks as well as the opportunity to network with other musicians and use our gear to live stream to an online fanbase. For musicians who attend these jams, the content we create enables them to book more gigs and the networking connections we host are essential to the career progression of Inglewood's local creatives. Our Monday jams are typically attended by 60-80 people every week now including artists like Keith Harris, Keyon Harold, Cory Henry, Sarah Thawer, Hadrien Feraud, Cyrilia, Tia P, Kevin Randolph, and more. The jams have grown so much that we've created a community board that meets weekly and discusses ways to improve our ability to help the community.
Tiny Room's Monday Night Jam Sessions are also a tremendous opportunity for people to learn new skills; every week we train people on lighting design, front of house audio, and videography-- skills that are extremely hard to acquire without access to hundreds of thousands of dollars of gear. Some of the enthusiastic locals that demonstrate skill in their technical abilities on Mondays have been employed for paid gigs at Tiny Room throughout the week, building up their resumes and effectively launching their careers.
Tiny Room Studios offers free masterclasses before our Monday Night Jams every week, helping musicians of all levels up their game under the instruction of incredible volunteers like Greg Spero, George Kilpatrick III, Jawann Blanchey, Jacob Galdes, and Clark Sims. Dozens of local artists attend these masterclasses to practice playing with other musicians, soloing, and understanding the nuances of collaborative improvisation. Once the teachers believe they're ready, the students will get called on stage during the weekly jam and put to the test alongside industry professionals. It's truly an opportunity and environment like no other.
