While it could be argued that Higgins didn't sacrifice anything in this play because of the way he kept running the entire show, he actually did sacrifice a lot. He sacrifices an extraordinary amount of time that he willingly bet on Eliza. He also sacrifices the chance to build a relationship with Eliza that could have been more than a mutual hatred for each other, however, he seems to regret this decision towards the end of the play.
