Sam Lyons is a violinist, conductor, and music educator hailing from the sunny state of Maine. Sam received his Bachelor's in Music Education with a concentration in violin from the University of Southern Maine. Currently, Sam works as the 6-12 orchestra director for the Timberlane Regional School District in Plaistow, New Hampshire. Over the past ten years Sam has enjoyed teaching students in Maine, New Hampshire, North Carolina, England, and India.
Some of Sam's teaching experiences have included working as the youth orchestra director for the Asheville Symphony Youth Orchestra program, as an ensemble conductor for the Bexley Youth Orchestra's at Bird College in London, England, and teaching western classical music to students in Chennai, India.
During the year, Sam loves to play and teach various styles of music. He recently founded the Timberlane Fiddler's, based in Plaistow, NH. When not playing music, you may find him hiking, rock climbing, or swimming laps in the pool.
