Robert Finch was born and raised as a true "Maine-ah" in Wells, Maine. After earning his Bachelor of Music Education (B.M.E.) from The University of Maine in 2006, he ventured across the bridge to New Hampshire, the Granite State. In 2016, Robert completed his Master of Music Education at Gordon College in Wenham, MA.
Since the fall of 2017, Robert has been a dedicated faculty member at Timberlane Regional Performing Arts Center, where he inspires both middle and high school students through vocal music. Before joining Timberlane, he spent nine wonderful years teaching music at Dover Middle School in Dover, NH (2008–2017).
In addition to his teaching career, Robert is an active conductor and performer throughout New England. He has been a member of the New Hampshire chapter of the American Choral Directors Association and has served as the Repertoire and Resource Chair for TTBB choirs since 2021. His conducting résumé includes directing ensembles at the University of New Hampshire’s Junior Summer Youth Music School, leading honors festivals in Vermont and multiple districts across Maine, and serving as the assistant conductor of the Seacoast Community Chorus in York, ME (2014–2017).
As a performer, Robert has been a part of various prestigious ensembles, including Seacoast Community Chorus, Manchester Choral Society, Portsmouth Pro Musica, Community Chorus of South Berwick and Portland Community Choir. Notably, he performed at Carnegie Hall with the Maine Festival Choir in 2016 and was part of the choir for the Ogunquit Playhouse’s production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame the same year.
