Q1: What is Timber and Steam Mobile Sauna?
A: Timber and Steam is a luxurious, wood-fired mobile sauna experience. We deliver a beautifully handcrafted sauna directly to your location, whether it’s a backyard, retreat, or special event. We also offer sessions at our base location in Kingfield as an alternative option.
Q2: How does the mobile sauna work?
A: Our sauna is a Converted enclosed Trailer delivered to your location. It is heated with a wood-fired stove to create a cozy, authentic sauna experience. We handle the setup and teardown, so all you need to do is relax.
Q3: How do I book a session?
A: Booking is easy! Simply reserve a Rental or Session online through our booking Calendar to reserve your sauna session, Full payment is required. If you are redeeming a gift certificate, email relax@timerandsteam.com instead of booking online.
Please note: Sauna rentals are by the day and delivered to you, with Standard delivery Time 4-6pm and pickup is 2-4pm the next day. Sauna Sessions are 90-minutes long and located at our Base in Kingfield.

Q4: How far in advance should I book?
A: We recommend booking at least 1-2 weeks in advance to secure your preferred date. For special events, it’s best to book as early as possible.
Q5: Do you offer same-day bookings?
A: While we try to accommodate last-minute bookings, availability is not guaranteed. Please contact us directly for same-day requests.
Q6: What locations do you serve?
A: We currently serve the Sugarloaf and Saddleback regions. If you’re outside this area, feel free to contact us—we might still be able to accommodate you.
Q7: What kind of space do I need for the sauna Rental?
A: The sauna requires a flat, accessible area for the trailer that is 16 Feet long. We’ll work with you to find the best spot during delivery.
Q8: Do I need to provide anything for setup?
A: All you need to provide is a suitable location. Be sure to check with your lodging host prior to booking. We take care of everything else, including wood for the stove and all necessary equipment. If interested in adding a cold plunge to your rental, you are required to have a water source at your location.
Q9: How many people can the sauna accommodate?
A: Our sauna comfortably fits 4-5 people, depending on seating preferences.
Q10: How long does it take to heat up?
A: The sauna takes approximately 45 minutes to reach the ideal temperature. We ensure it’s ready for use upon delivery.
Q11: What should I bring to my sauna session?
A: We recommend bringing towels, water bottles, and comfortable clothing for after your session. You can also bring aromatherapy oils for the water bucket for a more personalized experience. we do ask that you only use a few drops, and no perfumes should be worn inside the Sauna.
We recommend leaving Jewelry and electronics outside of the sauna. There is a changing room Attached to the Sauna where you can leave your belongings.
A Bluetooth speaker is provided if you want to connect your phone for music.
Please Note for 90- min Sauna Sessions: We recommend using the restroom ahead of time, as we do not have a private bathroom for guests located at our base. You’re welcome to use our personal bathroom if needed. We understand that some guests may not be comfortable with this, so we just wanted to give you a heads-up, especially since we have a toddler and three dogs (All Friendly though!)
Q12: Is the sauna suitable for all ages?
A: While the sauna is safe for most people, we recommend ages 12+. Please Consult a doctor for children, pregnant individuals, or those with certain health conditions.
Q13: Are there any health benefits to using a sauna?
A: Yes! Sauna use can help with stress relief, improved circulation, muscle recovery, and skin health. It’s a great way to relax and rejuvenate. See More info.
Q14: Is the sauna safe?
A: Absolutely. Our saunas are designed with safety in mind, and we provide clear instructions for safe usage. A fire extinguisher is always included with our setup. We do recommend ages 12+. Please Consult a doctor for children, pregnant individuals, or those with certain health conditions.
Q15: How is the sauna cleaned?
A: We thoroughly clean and disinfect the sauna between each use, following strict hygiene protocols to ensure your safety.
Q19: Can I book the sauna for an event or party?
A: Yes! Our sauna is perfect for weddings, retreats, corporate events, and private parties. Contact us for customized event packages.
Q20: Do you offer any add-ons or extras?
A: Yes, we offer a Cold Plunge and Solo Stove Fire Pit for additional Fees with a Sauna Rental. Water spigot is required at rental location.
Q21: What happens if it rains?
A: The sauna is fully weatherproof and can be enjoyed in most weather conditions. However, we recommend discussing alternative plans for severe weather.
Q22: What if there are technical issues during my session?
A: If you experience any issues, contact us immediately, and we’ll do our best to resolve them quickly.
Q16: What is your cancellation policy?

sauna rental cancellation policy Payment in Full is required to secure your sauna rental. Cancellations made more than 7 days in advance are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations made within 7 days of the booking are non-refundable.

Q17: What payment methods do you accept?
A: We accept all major credit cards, VENMO, APPLE, and cash payments. Payment is required to confirm your booking.
Q18: Are there any additional fees?
A: Our pricing includes delivery, setup, and teardown within our standard service area. A 5.5% tax is added per the state of Maine. Additional fees may apply for locations outside this area or for special requests.
