An effective maintenance program is pivotal to protecting and prolonging the investment made to the city's infrastructure. Implementing Reclamite Asphalt Rejuvenator to the city's roadways will, not only, improve the condition of the city's streets, but also, extend the pavement surface's typical life. Thus, over time, this approach will allow our local tax dollars to be extended further ultimately allowing additional improvements to be made to our roadway system such as more frequent total full depth reconstructions and curb construction and replacement.
The City Engineer's Office selects the annual Reclamite Asphalt Rejuvenator list based upon the year the roadway was resurfaced. Currently, the intent is to apply this surface treatment on a roadway 2 years after it was resurfaced. This surface treatment will not be applied to higher traffic volume roads such as our State Highways. Other alternative treatments such as microsurfacing will be analyzed for the higher traffic volume roadways.
