7 Frequently Asked Questions by the current Year 7!
Diego says...
"On Friday, you have Games at Grists. Your tutor will register you then walk you down to the busses, don't forget your kit before going to Tutor Time! You then leave your items in the lockers in the pavilion, and you do sport! Remember to pick up all of your belongings before you leave!"
Henry says...
"To manage homework, try and make a plan, so either do it the day that it is set or make time later in the week to do it. When I started year 7, I would always do my homework the night before it was due but now, I try and avoid that because it caused extra stress and worry."
Mika says...
"Falling behind is not the worst thing to happen at Tiffin. It’s not too late to make it up. No one expects you to be the best at a subject or get the best exam results. If you do what you are asked and do your homework and revise regularly, you’ll be fine. Getting into Tiffin is a great achievement, so don’t worry"
Iason says...
"Making friends in a new school is no big deal. You won't be the only person who doesn't know anyone else and if you do know someone, that's great! The best way of making friends is to not be shy and to just give a shot at hanging out with someone and asking their interests. Also, just because you're in a different form to someone else it doesn't mean you can't be friends."
Tom says...
"I remember my form tutor saying at the start of the year talking about how Tiffin is a place to learn about new things and that it isn’t all about good grades. She said that you should be going to clubs during lunch and be able to do new things. I will not lie but when I thought about going to Tiffin it was going to be hardcore studying 24/7 but it really isn’t. Of course, you will have to study but don’t feel like that since the school is a grammar school it is just studying. There is music, art, sport and many more things to explore at Tiffin. So, to end I will answer the question ‘Is Tiffin all about studying?’ with a No."
William says...
"The best way to get to lessons around school is, primarily, to stay with your form. This is because you will learn your way around school as a group which will create a closer bond between yourselves as well as helping you to find the best route."
Oscar says...
"To find and organise your email, just search up Outlook on Google, click on the top link and press sign in. This should bring up a Microsoft login page where you should log in using your school email and password. This will open your school email which you would be wise to bookmark it as it is an especially useful site. Then simply create a folder for each subject and get into a routine of filing away your emails at the end of each day. If there is any homework then simply mark it with a flag and move it into the corresponding folder when it is done."
