Tie and Doll 2025 Academic Scholarship
Eligibility for Application
This one-time scholarship is to help high school seniors gain access to higher education. The award is specifically intended for students who face cost-prohibitive challenges in continuing education beyond high school.
1. The applicant must be a current member of the Tie and Doll Teen Board.
2. The applicant must currently be active in Tie and Doll Teen Board activities.
3. The applicant must be (or will be) a Spring 2025 graduate of a high school with at least a cumulative
2.5 GPA.
4. The applicant must plan to attend a trade school or an accredited two-year or four-year college or
university in Summer 2025 or Fall 2025.
How to Apply
1. The Tie and Doll Scholarship application must be completed by the student applicant only.
2. Write an original 600-words or less essay describing your academic and career goals and your plans to achieve them. Also include, how the Tie and Doll Scholarship will help you advance your education. Essay should be organized and well-structured with correct grammar and spelling. WARNING: WE WILL USE A PLAGIARISM CHECKER SOFTWARE. PLAGIARISM AND THE USE OF ANY AI SOFTWARE IS AN AUTOMATIC DISQUALIFICATION.
3. Upload a PDF document including years of involvement and leadership roles (where applicable) for the following:
-- Extracurricular Activities & Sports
-- Community Service
-- Honors and Awards
-- Current Employment(s)
-- Other Scholarships Received and Amount
4. Include two (2) letters of recommendation. One recommendation must come from a teacher or administrator and the other recommendation is personal (non-relatives). Non-relatives include school counselors, coaches, previous employers, community/faith leaders, etc. It cannot be your mother, father, guardian, or a family member. Tie and Doll Board of Directors and staff members are prohibited from writing letters of recommendation for any applicants. The letter of recommendation MUST be typed with a letterhead, and include a wet or electronic signature and MUST be addressed to Tie and Doll 2025 Scholarship Committee.
NOTE: Recommendation letters should be sent to teenboard@tieanddoll.org from the person writing the recommendation letter and not the applicant. The applicant's full name should be included in the subject of the e-mail. Any recommendation letters received from the applicant will result in an automatic disqualification.
5. Submit an OFFICIAL high school transcript (obtained from your counselor with an official signature or stamp) that includes your GPA. The SAT/ACT score requirement is waived. However, if you have your score, you may include it. Official high school transcript should be emailed to teenboard@tieanddoll.org by the school counselor
NOTE: Official high school transcripts should be sent to teenboard@tieanddoll.org from the school counselor and not the applicant. The applicant's full name should be included in the subject of the e-mail. Any transcripts received from the applicant will result in an automatic disqualification.

Deadlines
All scholarship applications must be completed by Saturday, February 15, 2025. Incomplete applications will automatically disqualify your application. We will not follow-up to inform you of missing items. Please follow the checklist provided to ensure you have all requirements before completing the application.
Award Disbursement
Scholarship awards range from $250 to $2,500. Tie and Doll will bestow the scholarship upon proof of graduation. The scholarship is payable directly to the student’s college, university or certified trade school.
