All female dancers should wear makeup for the recital including: blush, mascara, lipstick. Optional makeup includes: foundation, eyeliner, eye shadow, and fake eyelashes. Why? The stage lights will wash out a dancer's face because the lights are so bright.
Age guidelines are posted on your photo schedule.

Tutus & Bowties, First Steps/First Taps, Tippy Toes/Tiny Tappers, Kidlets/Taplets & Thursday Beginning Level will wear their hair half-up/half-down and curly. Please see your photo schedule for any exceptions.
All female students in beginning level and up must wear their hair slicked back in a bun. Use a paddle brush to help brush out any bumps or ripples in the hair. All dancers will wear a high bun with the exception of those shown different on your photo guide
NO bangs or beads are allowed.
If your dancer has Ebony hair it can be braided back into a bun or a style that pulls the hair away from the face.
If your dancer has short hair, it must be pulled away from their face and slicked down.
Fly away hairs should be gelled down and smoothed out with hairspray.
Please use bobby pins and a hair net.
ALL HIP HOP CLASSES MUST WEAR THEIR HAIR IN A BUN FOR EASE OF COSTUME CHANGES.
To ensure that there are no costume problems, students should not wear their costumes, accessories, or tights prior to recital photos, dress rehearsal, or the recital. Please do take them out of the bag to give them a good fluff.
Hats should be stored in a hatbox or similar container to prevent damage.
Press all costumes prior to the rehearsal and the performance.
Please do not wash costumes in your washing machine; dry clean them only (after the showcase).
To release wrinkles in your ballet tutus, hang them upside down on a hanger in the bathroom and immerse them with steam from the shower. Hand held steamers also work great. Please do not iron.
Fringe skirts come packaged with string wrapped around each piece of fringe. Please carefully pull this string off for desired fringe skirt movement.
We recommend that each student's name be placed discreetly in permanent marker in his/her costumes, shoes, accessories, and tights.
Place costumes and dance shoes in the garment bag we distributed and make sure your child's name is on the outside. There is a handy little zipper pocket on the back of your costume bag too!
Pack accessories in a clear plastic bag with your child's name, label which dance the accessory is for, and place inside your child's garment bag. (we have done this for you!)
