Avery Koonce

The Avery Grace Koonce Memorial Scholarship was established by family and friends in the spring of 2025 to honor the memory of Avery.  Avery was a 2024 graduate of Thrall High School, who went on to receive an appointment into the Air Force Academy.  Cadet 4th Class Avery G. Koonce passed away at the Air Force Academy on September 4th, 2024.

While in high school, Avery was an exceptional student, both in and out of the classroom, and she embodied all of the qualities expected of a Thrall student.  Avery’s impact reached across the entire campus and touched so many lives.  Avery left an impact on all of the many activities that she was a part of, from cross country, track and powerlifting to band and color guard to UIL to cheerleading to Student Council and National Honor Society, Avery was a role model for both the young and old alike.
