As readers and writers, we will develop our knowledge of features within different genres, whilst continuing to focus on spelling, punctuation and grammar. This term, we will begin with an exciting and engaging narrative unit linked to the book, ‘Rose Blanche’ by Ian McEwan. This book is set in World War 2 Germany and tells the story through the eyes of a young girl. We will later move onto poetry and study the poem, 'The Malfeasance' by Alan Bold. This poem tells a tale of kindness and how we should not judge others, by creating this ugly creature. The people of the city try to hunt the creature when he appears but nothing makes it go away. Then someone suggests showing kindness to the beast and it dissolves.
