Home School Agreement

As a stakeholder at Thorn Grove Primary School, I accept the following responsibilities.

The School

Thorn Grove Primary School will do its best to:

• Provide a safe, secure, and caring learning environment where all children are valued, respected, and listened to.

• Support your child in developing a positive attitude towards others.

• Teach and encourage your child to do their best and achieve their full potential.

• Provide an engaging and balanced curriculum and share this with you.

• Set home learning opportunities for your child to practise what they have learned in school.

• Be welcoming and offer opportunities for you to become involved in school life.

• Respond effectively to your queries or concerns as promptly as possible.

• Keep parents informed about school life and special events through regular communication and via the school website.

• Contact you as soon as concerns are raised about your child’s learning, behaviour, attendance, or punctuality.

• Achieve high standards of behaviour by providing opportunities for children to develop positive social relationships, self-esteem, and a sense of responsibility.

Parents/Carers 

I agree to:

• • Ensure that my child attends school regularly, on time, properly prepared, and wearing the correct school uniform.

  • Inform the school on the first day of any absence.

  • Inform the school of any concerns or problems that might affect my child’s ability to learn or behave appropriately.

  • Support my child with home learning activities and value reading at home.

  • Take an interest in and ask questions about their learning.

  • Attend meetings with my child's teacher and other staff, aiming to be positive and productive, working towards supporting my child’s progress.

  • Support the school in obtaining any help my child may need.

  • Treat all staff and the wider school community with courtesy and respect.

  • Inform the school immediately of any changes to my contact details.

  • Follow the School’s Parent Code of Conduct 

Pupils 

By being a member of the Thorn Grove community I agree to:

• Come to school regularly and arrive on time.

• Take pride in wearing the correct school uniform.

• Always try my best with my learning and follow the rules: ‘Be Ready, Be Respectful, and Be Safe’ 

• Agree to the Thorn Grove Pledge (both in person and online).

• Tell somebody if there is something I am not happy about.

• Complete home learning activities and read regularly.

• Take good care of the school environment and living things.
