Dear Parents and Carers,
It was great to see so many of you last Wednesday for the Christmas Craft Day. It is always great to have parents in and there was a real buzz throughout the morning.
This week our children in Year 1-6 have the Panto (tomorrow). This is always a very enjoyable morning for the children attending. Also our Year 5 and 6 carol singers are joining other local schools and are singing tomorrow evening at St. Michael's Church.
This week we have the EYFS Nativity on Wednesday at 9:30am. Parents will be able to park on the school playground from 9am, once all the children are in class.
The children's Christmas Dinner is on Wednesday. Don't forget to book their lunch on the School-gateway App. Children can wear a Christmas jumper as part of their school uniform on that day.

Can we please ask that parents and children don't enter the school grounds in the morning until the gates have been opened by a member of staff. If someone comes in early please don't follow them. Only parents with children attending Sunrisers or those with appointments with school staff should be entering the site before the gates are opened at 8:45am.
This term we have continued to work with the local Mental Health Support Team. This team focuses on children's wellbeing. Evie (the wellbeing practitioner) will work with parents to provide strategies to support you at home if your child is incredibly anxious, struggles with their feelings and emotions or displays some challenging behaviours. If you feel that you need support with your child's wellbeing please speak to Mr Luck or Mrs Bowen.
One of our Governors (Andrew Bennett) term ends at the end of January. Andrew is keen to remain as a Parent Governor and has put himself forward to continue for a further 4 years. As part of the Governor election process we welcome interest from other parents who may wish to join the Governing Board. If you are interested please speak to Mr Luck before the end of term.

Year 5 went to the Boys High School to plant trees with their Six Form students. It was a great opportunity to work with others in the Bishop Stortford Community. The organising teacher, Mrs Slater, said;
'Everyone worked incredibly hard, and it was fantastic to see such great teamwork in action. The friendliness, enthusiasm, and cooperation shown by the children made the event enjoyable for everyone involved. Thanks to your contribution, we were able to plant 20 new trees that will benefit our school grounds and the wider environment for years to come. We hope your pupils are proud of the difference they’ve helped to make. we certainly are!'
