Dear Parents/Carers,
The Home School Agreement has been updated. You can find it on the school website under 'Information' and then 'Policies'. This outlines the responsibilities of the school, parents and pupils and includes Parent Code of Conduct. (www.thorngrove.herts.sch.uk/information/policies).
Please make sure your child has a named coat/jacket for use at break and lunchtimes. The weather at the moment is very unpredictable and we like to get the children out whatever the weather.
If your child is absent from school it is important to let the school office know the reason. Persistent absence (PA) is defined as an attendance rate of 90% or below. If your child has had 2 or more days this term then they will be in the persistent absence category.
Next week, the Food Bank will be visiting to talk about the important role they play in our community. To support them, we are asking for food donations from all year groups from Wednesday this week. Non-perishable goods and especially those that help to make an easy meal (pasta, chopped tomatoes, rice, baked beans, jam, cereal, soup, and tinned fruit) can make a real difference. Please see the poster below for more information.
Don't forget to book you parent consultation appointment, if you haven't already thorngroveparentseveningsystem.co.uk
Also next week, we welcome parents from Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 to join us on Wednesday 15th October at 9:15am for a Harvest Festival Assembly.
This year, we are continuing to celebrate different music genres within school. As part of this, the children look at a different musician each month and this month it's Tracy Chapman.
Musician of the Month - Tracy Chapman
Tracy Chapman is an American singer songwriter. Chapman is best known for her hit singles "Fast Car" and "Give Me One Reason". She is politically and socially active and is very passionate about supporting human rights. Listen to her music here
