Dear Parents and Carers,
Year 5 and 6 were brilliant performing Romeo and Juliet last week. They certainly did Shake Up Shakespeare! They performed fantastically well and it showed the wealth of talent in upper key stage 2. Well done to all the children for being stars!
We have a busy end to the term. Reception, Year 2, Year 3 and Year 6 have school trips this week. Transition Day is on Thursday and the PTA Event is next week. Please check the calendar for upcoming events so you don't miss them.
When our Year 6 children go to their secondary schools on Thursday we have our own transition morning at school. The children will spend the morning (from 9:30am) with their teachers for September. It will be a chance for the children to ask questions about the new school year and familiarise themselves with their new classrooms. Children will come in as normal and will meet in the hall before being collected by their new teacher.
The Department for Education has updated its statutory guidance for Relationships Education, Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) and Health Education, which schools must fully implement from September 2026. As a result, we have reviewed and updated our policy. As part of our consultation process, we would welcome feedback from parents and carers before the policy is formally approved. A copy of the draft policy is available here
With warm weather forecast this week please remember to apply sun cream on your child before they come into school and ensure they have a sun hat/cap and a water bottle. We are happy for the children to come in to school in their school PE kit so that they are more comfortable. However if your child is going on a school trip then they need to wear their uniform on that day.
As we head towards the End of Term, please check in the lost property pile which is in the school vestibule. We still have a large amount of unnamed clothing, which if not claimed before the last week, will be donated to the PTA or placed in our clothing recycling bin. Please remember to name your child's belongings so they can be returned directly, named items will never end up in the lost property box!
Remember our Winning House for Flag Competition was Sea Turtle and their non-uniform day is on Friday 10th July.
Thank you for your Sports Day feedback regarding Sports Days.
There was a strong thread for the event to take place on one day as working parents can then arrange for just one day's annual leave to attend. The date for this event is always shared well in advance.
"Great event loved all the efforts put by the staff and the kids"
"It was well organised and selection of games was good as per age at the same time it was competitive as well. We and children enjoyed the sports day. Thank you."
