Dear Parents and Carers, 

We have the SCARF Life Bus in this week. Children in all year groups (Nursery to Year 6) will take part in PSHE workshops.

We had the Headteachers of Summercroft and Reedings, and the Deputy Headteacher of Elsenham in school last Wednesday to look at the work we've been doing in oracy. It's always great to share good practice and work with other local schools.

Last Thursday you received your child's school photo information, and this is a reminder that the early bird discount deadline is tomorrow, Tuesday 26th November.

Dare we say it … Christmas is fast approaching. From next week we will have the Christmas Post Box in the Library for children to post Christmas cards to their friends if they choose to. Please remember that all envelopes need to be marked with the child's name and year group.

Next Wednesday 3rd Dec, we have Christmas Craft Day and parents are very welcome to come into their child's class and help make decorations for the school Christmas tree. Parents are welcome to attend at any time, during the morning, you just need to let your child's class teacher know. If you have more than one child you can go between the year groups.

If you haven't already, some parents may receive a letter in the next couple of weeks regarding your child’s attendance. Any attendance below 90% is classed as persistent absenteeism. If your child has attendance below 90% at the end of the term then they would have missed at least 7 days of school. One of the biggest barriers to academic achievement is poor attendance. We want to work with you to help reduce the barriers to school attedance.

We have a lot of items in Lost Property. At the end of this week we will be moving unnamed unclaimed items into the school clothes recycling bin. If you have items of clothing missing and want to check please do so early this week.
