Dear Parents and Carers,
Thanks for the generous donations for Children in Need, we raised £222.65.
The children enjoyed the coding workshops which we were able to put on because of the PTA. Susie McCauley who ran the workshops said, 'I had a lot of fun with the workshops last week! Thank you so much for having me into your lovely school. Everyone went out of their way to make me feel welcome and I really enjoyed working with your classes. You have some great engineers of the future in there.'
Don't forget that there is no school on Friday this week because it is an Occasional Day and the school will be closed.
Being on time for school is vital, arriving late to school can be very disruptive for your child and the other children in their class. It is important that children understand the importance of time keeping and being organised. There may be times when you find it difficult to ensure that your child is on time, however If this is the case, it is important to talk to school as soon as possible.
The HFL Education Online Safety Newsletter for autumn 2025 is now available. This includes guidance, useful links, and key updates on online safety across all phases, with a focus on current trends, challenges, and developments. We hope you find them helpful and informative.
Year 6 took part in a tag rugby tournament last week.
They represented the school brilliantly.
Last week the football team won 7-0 versus Thorley Hill. They played incredibly well with Jackson (2), Owen (2), Arden (2) and Theo scoring the goals.
Year 6 attended the Remembrance Service in Castle Park last week to honour and reflect on the sacrifices made by those who served in wars, ensuring that their contributions and the lessons of history are not forgotten.
Following thoughtful feedback and discussion with our Red House Captain, we want to share Red House is now Rashford House.
Marcus Rashford is a footballer for England, known for his speed, skill, and determination on the pitch. He has worked hard to make sure children in the UK have enough food, especially during school holidays, showing that kindness and fairness matter as much as winning goals.
Marcus is also an author. He often says that reading changed his life, and now he wants to help other children discover the same joy. We have copies of his books in our library for children to read.
The Red House Captain wanted to ensure that everyone is happy with the House name. In line with one part the school pledge: It is our responsibility to ensure everyone is welcome.
