Dear Parents and Carers,
This week is the last full week of term as the children finish at 1:30pm next Wednesday (22nd July). Once again we have a busy week and this includes the PTA Colour Run on Thursday and the Year 6 Leavers Assembly on Friday.
We know it is tempting to keep the children off school as the school year comes to an end, however we will be doing lots of different activities before the end of term so please send your children in so that they don't miss out.
With England reaching the semi-final of the World Cup we will be opening the registers until 10am on Thursday morning. Hopefully, this will allow the children to enjoy the football and get enough sleep. Come on England!
It looks like it will be another warm week so please remember to apply sun cream on your child before they come into school and ensure they have a sun hat/cap and a water bottle. We are happy for the children to come to school in their school PE kit so that they are more comfortable.
The DSPL3 (Delivering Special Provision Locally) website is full of helpful information for families. DSPL3 want to increase awareness of the support and services that are available and make it easier for SEND families to access the support they may need. There are details of free upcoming training courses and workshops, EBSA (Emotion Based School Avoidance) information if your child is struggling to attend school, SEND parent coffee mornings, Service Directories, how to contact them, and much more.
Please refrain from using your mobile phones on the school site unless this is absolutely necessary. We often see parents with phones in hand at the beginning and end of the day. Think of the message this sends your children. Greet your child with a smile, not a mobile. We are sure the children would appreciate this too.
The Great British Summer Savings scheme
From 25 June to 1 September 2026, the Government is temporarily cutting VAT from 20% to 5% on children's meals in restaurants, children and family tickets to cinemas, theatres, concerts and exhibitions, and admission to a wide range of attractions. Combined with free bus travel during August for children aged 5 to 15 in England, families and young people will be able to enjoy experiences that make summer special, including visits to the kinds of cultural and educational attractions that enrich children's lives outside the classroom.
To use the attraction finder, please visit https://summersavings.gov.uk.
The final House Points count for this year will be on Friday, with the winning house having a non-uniform day on Monday 20th July.

She plays piano and erhu (a two stringed bowed musical instrument, more specifically a spike fiddle), which she has played since childhood. Genres: Pop, Mandopop, J-pop, Tibet folk
