Dear Parents and Carers,
We would like to share the fantastic news (if you didn't already know) that Mrs Hexter is having a baby and expecting in March 2026.
Last week the football team drew 1-1 versus Summercroft. They played incredibly well and Jackson in year 6 scored the goal.
We look forward to welcoming some of you this half term for our Christmas events. Please check the calendar for dates and times so you don't miss out! Our Year 6 children will be attending the Remembrance Service in Castle Park at 11am tomorrow to pay our respects and honour those who serve to defend our democratic freedoms and way of life. In every act of remembrance, we honour the memory of the fallen and pledge to care for the living. We will remember them.
Don’t forget that the Food Bank is there to support all families who need some help during difficult times. As a school we can make a referral on your behalf. Please do not hesitate in getting in touch if you feel this would be of help to you and your family.
Some of you may receive letters regarding your child’s attendance. Any attendance below 90% is classed as persistent absenteeism. If your child has attendance below 90% at the end of the term then they would have missed at least 7 days of school. One of the biggest barriers to academic achievement is poor attendance.
Children in Need is on Friday (14th November) and the theme is to wear your pyjamas/lounge wear, however pupils can wear their own clothes, if they prefer. Appropriate sensible footwear is expected. Suggested donation of £1 paid via www.schoolgateway.com or directly to your child’s teacher
The latest Just Talk Herts campaign, The Power of Music on Mental Health runs for the week of 17th November 2025. This campaign focuses on the positive impact of music on mental health and wellbeing for the children and young people in Hertfordshire. The power of music encourages students to explore how music can support their emotional wellbeing through listening, creating and sharing music. If you have clothes at home that you want to recycle, don't forget to use the PTA clothes recycling bin which is situated in the school car park. The bin is emptied regularly and the more items collected the more money raised for the school. Please donate any unwanted clothes and textiles when you drop off or pick up your children from school.
