The Thorndon School Board of Trustees promote the wearing of masks for all staff, whānau, manuhiri and students (all of Kererū, Kākāpō and Kea) from Monday 25 July until Friday 19 August on school site. This means, for the start of Term 3, 2022, Thorndon School is following the strong recommendation from the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health that all schools and kura amend their mask policy for the first four weeks of term to require mask wearing in all indoor settings (where it will not have a significant impact on teaching and learning) for students in Years 4 and above. For Thorndon School however, as we have a combined Year 3 and 4 space, masks are required to be worn from Years 3 and above (all of Kererū, Kākāpō and Kea) during this timeframe.
