The Evaluation

The Evaluation will include informal and formal assessment to get the best picture of student strengths and weaknesses.

The assessment may include but is not limited to the following:

  • Woodcock- Johnson IV (Wide variety of areas + Spelling+ Letter Knowledge)

  • TOWRE (Decoding real + unfamiliar)

  • Spelling (classroom samples; lists)

  • TOC (spelling)

  • CTOPP (Phonological + Rapid Naming)

  • Listening Comprehension (teacher observation; informal)

  • GORT (Fluency + Reading Comprehension)

  • TPRI/RtI Data/ Classroom Grades/ STAAR/STAR diagnostic reports/Aimsweb

  • Writing Samples (written expression + spelling)

  • Math Benchmarks/STAAR/Aimsweb


The above information will be compiled with Parent/Teacher input, health/behavioral documentation, attendance/other relevant data and will be discussed at a Section 504/ARD meeting to determine eligibility.
