Laptop Damage and Support
In many cases, laptops purchased through Learning With Technologies(LWT) or JB HiFi Education(JB Edu) via the portal, our ICT team at Thornbury High School may be able to assist in diagnosing the issues and asssit the parents to log it with the vendor depending on the situation.
If you have purchased a device from another retailer, then you will have to return this device to that retailer for support and warranty claims. Thornbury High School is unfortunately unable to assist you with this process.

Can I purchase a laptop from anywhere else?
Yes, you can purchase a device from another supplier, but we're not able to provide specific device recommendations.

Which laptop should be chosen?
We have recommended multiple laptops in different price brackets. Students intending to study Visual Arts subjects will generally need a more powerful laptop, and the cheaper options provided may not be suitable.

The student environment often leads to a higher number of repairs. When purchased, onsite support at the school greatly reduces frustrations for parents. Getting a retail device repaired usually takes weeks and quite often requires the parent to take time out of their day.

All the devices have options for Accidental Damage protection with quick repair times. They use manufacturers policies, not third-party products to help guarantee parts availability.

LWT offers a $100 deposit option to secure a device and let you pay much closer to the delivery date.
