What you need to know
Review your job shadow application carefully. If you're unsure about anything—like the date, location, where to enter, or parking—call the job site to confirm the details. If possible, do a practice trip to your shadow site before your actual visit, so you know exactly where to go. Important - Do NOT lose your job shadowing application!
Bring -the Job Shadowing Attendance and Feedback Sheet (that is in the packet) and give it to your supervisor when you arrive. Let them know it needs to be filled out and returned to you before you leave. Do not forget to take it home with you! Without this form we can not grant you the job shadow credit.
Lunch - Bring money to buy food or pack your own lunch.
Parking - Check ahead to see if you need to pay for parking.
Cell Phones - are allowed but only use it to take pictures for your POG Gallery—and ask the job site for permission first. Keep your phone on silent and out of sight. No texting or calling during your shadow.
Ear Buds - are not allowed. Leave them at home, please.
First impression - Arrive 15 minutes early—do not be late.
Ask questions - Don’t be shy!
Be appreciative - by showing appreciation with a handshake and a sincere thank you before you leave.
Reflection Sheet - should be filled out when you return and handed in to Mrs. Walworth ASAP. This is a graduation requirement.
Thank you note - Send a thank you note to your job shadow contact within 3 days. Sending it by email is fine. Make it professional!
If you are sick - Call your job shadow contact to let them know and reschedule it. Also don't forget to call TMHS and report that you will not be on your job shadow that day.
