Whether you’re registering for an upcoming season, reviewing eligibility requirements, or exploring enrollment at Thomas Heyward Academy, the sections below walk you through each step clearly and simply. Use the section that best fits your situation or review all if you’re getting started for the first time.

Season Registration
Forms, physicals, and participation requirements
Season registration includes all five required forms, physical documentation, and athletic participation fees. These steps ensure student-athletes are eligible, prepared, and cleared to compete for the upcoming season.

All student-athletes are required to complete five participation forms before being cleared to participate in athletics.
Forms may be completed in one of two ways:
Online (Recommended):
Submit all forms electronically using the e-signature registration links above for Fall, Winter, or Spring sports.
Paper Option:
Print, complete, and sign all forms, then return them to the front office, a coach, or the Athletic Director.

All forms can be found using the links above by clicking the appropriate season for sports registration and selecting the Forms tab.
All athletes must have a current physical on file (dated within the past year) in order to participate. Physical forms must be submitted no later than the first day of practice. Physical Forms can be downloaded from the "Other" tab in the "Athletic Forms" section.
Physicals may be submitted in one of the following ways:
Scan and email the completed form to lthomas@thomasheyward.org
Drop off a physical copy at the front office
Turn it in directly to a coach or the Athletic Director
All student-athletes in Grades 3–12 are required to pay the athletic participation fee before participation.
Fees may be submitted in one of two ways:
In Person:
Pay by cash or check (checks payable to Thomas Heyward Academy) and submit to the front office, a coach, or the Athletic Director.
Online (Recommended):

Athletic Fees:
Cheerleading, Cross Country, Wrestling & Sporting Clays: $25
B-Team Volleyball & B-Team Basketball: $75
All Other Sports: $100

Participation in THA Athletics comes with clear expectations for both students and families. This section outlines academic eligibility, athletic requirements, and program policies designed to support accountability, growth, and a positive athletic experience.
THA has a 100% college acceptance rate for graduating seniors
Graduated 21 student-athletes to play collegiate athletics since 2016 (NAIA, NCAA DIII, DII, and DI
Provides strong academic standards paired with competitive athletics expectations for players
Academics are the first priority at Thomas Heyward Academy. Student-athletes must meet academic expectations in order to be eligible for participation, competing in athletics is a privilege that comes with responsibility, and student-athletes earn that opportunity by meeting academic expectations and representing the program well off the field.
THA Athletics is a program built on commitment, accountability, and trust in the process. Participation standards include consistent attendance, effort, and engagement in practices, meetings, and team activities, as well as a willingness to buy into team expectations and culture.
The THA Athletic Handbook outlines the expectations, policies, and standards for all student-athletes and families. It includes information on conduct, eligibility, participation requirements, and program guidelines to ensure a positive and accountable athletic experience.

Campus visits & next steps
Families interested in becoming part of the THA athletic program must complete the school admissions process before a student-athlete is eligible to participate. Athletics at THA is an extension of the school’s mission, and enrollment is required prior to participation.
How to Apply
Applying is easy using the Online Application. A non-refundable application fee must be submitted with each application. Use the "School Enrollemnt" button above.
To begin:
Create an Online Admissions Account
Log in and Create a New Student Application for your child
You may log in and out to complete the application at your convenience
After submission, families can track admissions status, view required supplemental forms, and print completed applications through their account.
