Australia has alots of crocodile. Elizabeth Pausa, a 15-year-old
Australian girl, was sitting next to a small river near the city of
Cairns. She was relaxing, with her feet in the water. Suddenly, a
crocodile, 3.2 metres long, jumped out of the water and bit her
legs. It dragged her below the surface of the water to kill her.
Fortunately, she was able to hold on to the branch of a tree.
Elizabeth held on as the crocodile pulled. Her grandmother saw
what was happening and jumped into the water. She tried to pull
Elizabeth to safety while the crocodile tried hard to pull the poor
girl under the water. Finally, the crocodile went away. Elizabeth
had cuts on her legs and a broken ankle, but she was safe.
