Industrial Rope Access is a form of work positioning, which applies practical rope work to allow our Technicians to access structures that are otherwise inaccessible, unsafe or impractical to access using conventional access and fall protection techniques such as scaffolding or mobile elevated work platform’s (MWEP’s).
All our rope access team members are trained to IRATA standards in rope access & rescue techniques. This facet of our company enables us to take our skills and services to difficult to access locations and provide a competitive safe alternative to more costly solutions.
Thistle Access NDT Ltd provides a variety of innovative IRATA rope access, inspection, maintenance, engineering and service solutions saving a wide range of clients time and money by minimising downtime and maximising efficiency.

Thistle Access NDT Ltd operate a fleet of modern, highly capable All Terrain Vehicles (ATV's). Providing cover accross the whole of Scotland, our ATV's are supplied with trained & experienced operators.
With dedicated seating for up to 5 passengers plus a sizeable cargo payload, our ATV's are ideally suited to transport personnel, materials and equipment to remote hillside locations - especially useful for the Telecoms & Utilities sectors.
The use of high strength materials, combined with a low weight & wide rubber tracks means our ATV's have a very low ground pressure. This results in a greatly reduced impact on any terrian the ATV travels over, compared to other types of ATV. They are able to traverse steep slopes and cross very soft ground or deep snow with ease, causing minimal damage to sensitive environments or highway surfaces.
Thistle Access NDT Ltd, in addition to our rope access services, also have technicians who are fully trained in confined space entry and rescue techniques. We routinely provide safety cover and access management services for Client personnel requiring safe access to various confined space locations including adits, boilers, pits, silos, stills, vessels and tunnels.

By utilising the latest Unmanned Aerial System technology, Thistle Access can eliminate the risk associated with accessing hazardous structures or remote terrain, and enable rapid imaging of assets or areas with High Definition video, photographic, LiDAR or infra-red thermal aerial inspection & survey. From close-up inspection of industrial assets through to mapping / monitoring of forestry blocks or power lines, we provide professional services custom suited to our clients needs.
Thistle Access can offer a range of powerful, agile ROV systems that can be matched to your specific requirements.
