Although we may look down upon such silly sayings, they probably apply to the majority of our current youth. The danger behind herd mentality is the lack of awareness that we are another sheep in the herd. Through the principles of evolutionary, biological and developmental psychology, this workshop will unveil the true beginnings of herd mentality and how it impacts our career paths. Enough time has been spent idolising revolutionaries, it is time to become one.
is currently completing her final year at Doha College before progressing onto university at 16 years of age. Her Colombian and Irish heritage has allowed her to have a bizarre outlook on several societal norms, cultures and traditions. Being surrounded by a sea of opportunities presented to her throughout her secondary schooling, she stumbled upon Model United Nations and was quickly immersed by a community like no other. She quickly proceeded to being a Student Officer in THIMUN Qatar 2020, MISMUN VI and ODCTX after her passion for advocating change allowed her to attain the position of Head of Admin, during DCMUN XII. Although she is keen in voicing her reflections through public speaking, she has undertaken writing as a vessel of communication, in the past year. Her articles range from politics to body image and are as diverse as her passions. Maintaining a videography account as well as, dedicating herself to long distance running has made her realise the true value in expression, whether that be through an art medium or sport. This led her to question whether the society we live in currently, truly allows us to explore our interests freely or if it is confining us. Through the opportunity of presenting at the Qatar Leadership Conference 2020, she seeks to challenge both attitudes present in today's day and age.
