The workshop is aimed towards people who are multiracial and cannot directly reply to the question “where are you from?” It is a workshop that not only allows people to discover that they are not alone on a journey that may lead to occasional identity crises, but will also guide them towards accepting their personal diversity.
The workshop aims to involve activity from the audience as they will have to raise hands to answer some generic questions only to realise that they aren't the only ones battling through the issue of not being able to belong within a specific culture or place. It intends to help people acknowledge that they can find their place in this world, or that they might not even have to.
Dalia Al-Sherif is an extravagant persona, one who is ready to stand up not only for her beliefs, but also the beliefs of others. Born to Russian and Palestinian parents, Dalia is patriotic of her Russian and Palestinian cultures as both have played a prominent part of her life since her childhood. Whilst outwardly conflicting, her dual heritages have instead combined to evoke a love for dramatic arts within Dalia. However, they have also given her a respect and understanding towards other cultures as she also grew up in internationally diverse areas. Developing cultural sensitivity almost as a birth right has shown her that even the littlest of things can make the biggest impact.
