Fatimah Z. Olukade is a Nigerian student currently studying in Year 13 at Qatar International School. She will be serving as the President of the General Assembly for THIMUN Qatar 2021. Driven by her interest in youth initiatives to support local communities, she commenced her MUN journey as a critical thinking year 10 student. Using the tools that she gained from the educational lens of MUN, she has been able to obtain first hand experience in the world of service, by working with local and international organisations. Fatimah is a determined individual, who believes that the mission of the UN in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, provides an immensely beneficial platform for youth to actively engage in ongoing issues; ultimately to strengthen their communities through personal impact. Fatimah is delighted to be joining hands with the participants of THIMUN Qatar to learn new concepts and work together to develop sustainable service projects through the Global Act with Impact Awards. She is eager to see delegates challenge themselves, and express their passion and creativity through the multiple service activities.
Sadeem Jaro is an Iraqi 12th grader at the American School of Doha, and is honored to serve as one of the Deputy Presidents of the General Assembly at THIMUN Qatar 2021. Sadeem’s MUN journey started in 2016, where he participated in his first MUN conference as a delegate. From then on, his love for the podium has grown, leading him to participate in over 16 conferences both locally and internationally, taking up delegate, student officer, and executive roles alike. Sadeem believes that the power of MUN stems not only from the passionate debate in the committee rooms, but also through having those ideas translate into tangible action. This year, Sadeem is excited to expand the breadth of THIMUN’s service-related action, focusing on projects that empower the youth to take positive measures within their communities, such as with GAIA. Sadeem believes that MUN has the capability to shape future leaders through discussing the pressing issues of our time, and in doing so, leaving a positive mark on our communities and the larger world.
